We need each other 05/05/13

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  Hebrews 10:25

I don’t mean any harm, but I cannot understand why there are those, when they are facing hardships that are somewhat difficult; they tend to feel that they can’t come to Church School, Worship or Prayer & Bible Study.  They seem to think that it is better for them to stay home and deal with their problems all by themselves. Well, I have to strongly disagree with them.  I must ask you, “What better place is there for any child of God to be, other than the place where God can speak loudly to them and bring encouragement through the fellowship of the saints?”  And we know that is the Church!

I truly understand life can deal some extremely hard blows, but it is imperative for us understand that the Lord wants us to know that if we are experiencing hardships, and attacks from the enemy, that it must first come by the hand of God first in order to get permission to reach us.  Therefore, it is by Divine design that you and I face the attacks from the diabolical enemy.  We must not allow ourselves to become despondent and dispirited to the point of staying away from the place the Lord wants us to be so that we might get the encouragement and guidance we need to make it through our situation and that is fellowshipping with the people of God.

It is up to each of us to realize that staying away from the House of Worship, and brooding over your problems will not solve them any faster.  Let me ask you a question, “When you are experiencing your hardships, and you feel that you need to stay away from assembling with fellow believers, do you also stay away from work, the movies, restaurants, the mall, the clubs and many other things? Then why do you find it necessary to stay away from the place where we can encourage you; where you can hear and be taught the Word of God that has the solutions for all of our trials?

Please understand that it is the enemy that desires for you and I to stay away from fellowshipping with other believers when we are going through difficulty.  He wants you to think that it is better for you to stay away and deal with things yourself. He wants you to think that those people at the church don’t understand what I’m going through. The enemy wants you to feel embarrassed about what you are dealing with and that others will ridicule you. Well, I’ve got news for you, the Lord instructed us not to neglect meeting together with other believers in order to encourage one another; and to be taught the Word of God.  I have to be honest with you, the more you stay away, the easier it is to stay away.

Don’t allow yourself to fall for the okie doke!  We need each other!

Pastor Moore
