Your devotional meditation is taken from Proverbs 18:2 which says,
“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinions.”
Scripture characterizes a fool as one who says, “…there is no God.” Therefore that individual is one that has no desire to hear any godly wisdom from others. The fool only seeks to spout off their own vain babbling. He or she shuts out any sound reasoning and does not care to gain understanding in vital matters of importance. This person is only interested in promoting his own thoughts and ideas.
We are told that one is blessed who does not receive counsel from ungodly people (Psalm 1:1). It is necessary that we make sure that we seek to understand things from God’s perspective. Also, we must speak those things that line up with God’s Word and not our own feelings. God’s Word is the standard of truth, it is not what we think or feel. If it does not line up with what God says, it is error.
