Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Philippians 2:8a, which says,
“Being found in appearance as a man…” (NASB).
To show the depths our Lord traveled down from His splendid glory in Heaven; He was discovered by those who saw Him from the time He was born to the time He died, outwardly in human form only. Most people did not notice that He was also Divine. The prophet Isaiah stated that “He is despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.” (Isa. 53:3, NKJV).
His own brothers and sisters did not know He was Deity, and they lived with Him. He voluntarily did all of this so that He could rescue sinful mankind. He truly identified with us regardless of the disrespect and the shame. He suffered physical abuse at the hands of men. He did all of this by surrendering the fellowship He had with God the Father from eternity past so that He could deliver us from eternal damnation to eternal delight. An amazingly awesome act of love.
