Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Philippians 2:7a, which says,

“But emptied Himself…”

It is an amazing thing our Savior did when in eternity past He willingly agreed to divest Himself to set aside some of His divine privileges. That is, He was absolutely divine, but He emptied Himself of every advantage and privilege by declining to maintain any of His divine rights in support of His own interests in several areas. He was still and always will be deity. However, Christ gave up His face to face relationship with the Father in order to come here for us. He emptied Himself of His independent authority, that is, He completely submitted to the Father’s will. He relinquished the worship of the saints and angels in Heaven. He surrendered to being misunderstood, being denied, mistreated and persecuted for you and me. He gave up the shining bright splendor of His glory in heaven in order to come and die a shameful death on a cross for us.

I don’t care what anyone says, That is extreme love for lost mankind. What a mighty God we serve.

God be praised!
