Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Habakkuk 3:17-18, which says,
“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, (18) Yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.” (ESV).
It is always easy to praise and celebrate the LORD when things are going good in our lives. We come to church and we know all of the right things to say, but the question is, when God allows our lives to fall apart, do we still tell Him how good He is and mean it?
The way we are able to to do that, is that we must have an insatiable desire to know Him so intimately that our thoughts always on Him regardless of the good times or bad times. For the believer, we are to immerse ourselves in Him day by day by getting into His Word and staying in prayer. If we are casual acquainted with Him, we will not be able to genuinely praise Him in our down times.
God be with you.
