Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Ephesians 4:31-32, which says,

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice (32) Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (ESV)

In our new life in Christ, we are to remember that there are changes that must take place in our relationship with each other. We must get rid of those things that are characteristics of unbelievers. It looks bad for us to be children of God and harbor resentment and ill will toward others in the same family. These things should not be named among us.

In turn we are to exhibit positive virtues such as kindness, compassion and forgiveness toward one another. The motivating factor behind this is that God has forgiven us through Christ. If God could forgive us, how can we not forgive one another?
