Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Proverbs 22:13, which says,

“The lazy man says, ‘There is’ a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets.”

When it comes to the things of God, it is dangerous to make excuses why we will not study His Word or serve Him regularly. The problem with making excuses is, the individual will always say why they can’t study or serve. The issue is not that they cannot, but they will not. Many times the reason is that the do not want to be inconvenienced. They just do not want to get out of their comfort zone. There are times when someone is asked to come to Church School or Bible Study, their response is, “I can’t because it’s too early.” Or they just go home. Or someone is asked to participate in an activity the church is having, and they will make excuses why they can’t.

We have to stop making excuses why we can’t, and seize upon the opportunity to do for the Lord. We must realize that it is a privilege to be used by Him. Don’t miss out.
