Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Psalm 73:1-3, which says,

“Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. (2) But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. (3) For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.” (ESV)

I know it appears that the wicked prosper. It looks like they seem to always escape any retribution. For those who seek to live right, according to God’s Word, we sometimes get perplexed by the seeming well-being of the corrupt. We feel that it is not fair how we endure God’s chastening, and they seem to always get away with everything. We must understand that no one escapes God’s judgment of wickedness.

The LORD is patient, and He will do what He does in His own time. Psalm 37:2 states that the evildoer, “will soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” But in the meantime, let us pray for the rebellious, they need God’s grace and mercy like we did and do now.

God bless you!
