Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 (ESV)

When a child is conceived by his or her parents, that child becomes an everlasting being who will live forevermore in eternity future. Unfortunately, since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, there is the inevitable reality that mankind became an enemy of God; therefore, doomed to be separated eternally from Him, suffering God’s never-ending wrath, which it’s the penalty for man’s rebellion. Man’s defiant disobedient act cursed all of creation; thus sending mankind spiraling downward into the depth of wretched misery.

The fall brought about a hopeless condition in mankind. This condition brought death, degradation, doom, disaster and depravity into the world. It set mankind against God and God against mankind. The fall of man brought about a deplorable, despicable, dilemma that made man totally unable to free himself from his ruined condition. Man had become a vile, miserable and insubordinate rebel who was destined for damnation.

It is comforting to know that God’s loving-kindness and His tender-mercies reached down to the lowest depths of mankind’s depravity, that one could never ever imagine, by giving His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ to suffer death and divine wrath in order to bring lost mankind into a loving relationship with God the Father. Apostle Paul expresses in Romans 5:1, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (ESV).

The hostility has been removed. God is no longer hostile to the one who places his or her trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, the emblem of suffering and shame, and His resurrection from the dead; and is now seated at the right hand of majesty on High.

Being justified by faith, is the act whereby God declares the lost sinner righteous. This is the blessed hope of all that are saved by grace through faith. This blessed hope is the joyful and confident expectation of eternal life in the presence of the Almighty. The ruin of the curse, has been wiped out. Death does not have hold sway over us any longer. Sin has no dominion over us anymore. The penalty of God’s retributive everlasting wrath in the lake of fire, is no longer a threat to us.

We now enjoy blissful fellowship with the Father through the Son because of His great sacrifice on the cross and His subsequent resurrection from the grave. “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” What a fellowship what a joy divine!

The fellowship that the believer now enjoys with the Father through Christ, will one day be unhindered when we dwell in heaven with our redeemed bodies. All of the vestiges of the curse that are now present, will be eradicated completely in the consummation of the age. The Lord will gather all of the redeemed, and take us to our true, final resting place in the eternal glories of the new heaven and the new earth. The New Jerusalem is where we will live for ceaseless ages to come in the presence of our heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who was slain for our sins. We will go to the land of no more: no more death, no more sorrow, no more sadness, no more sickness, no more crime, no more cloudy days, no more hopelessness, and thank God no more war and hate. Rest your hope in Christ, He is the only hope for mankind. Blessings to you!

Your servant in Christ,
