Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Romans 12:15, which says,
“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”
A great encouragement to fellow believers is to share in both the delight and despair of others. It is also a sign of care and concern when we can come alongside individuals in order to wrap our arms around them in a show of support.
When we are able to position ourselves with someone in a state of gladness or grief it shows that we are not self-centered. This is a mark of those in the Kingdom of God who exemplify the character of Jesus. Whenever someone was celebrating, Jesus was there celebrating with them (John 2). Also, whenever someone was in a state of sorrow, He too wept with the individuals (John 11. Let us remember, God’s Word expresses to us that we keep the priority of love in its proper place. Love the Lord our God with all of our being and our neighbors as ourselves. When that is our disposition, we will be able to be a great encouragement to others.
God’s abundant blessings to you!
