Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Romans 15:1, which says,
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.”
It is a true reality that there are various levels of spiritual maturity among believers. It is vital for those who are morally strong spiritually to understand that they are under obligation to bear patiently with the weaknesses of those who are not morally strong in their Christian walk. A true fellow believer is not to just tolerate those weaknesses, but to help carry them, by not criticizing or being condescending, but by showing respect for the sincere views and efforts they may not agree with. When the stronger believer takes time to lovingly bear with the weaker brother or sister, they are genuinely and lovingly coming along side of those who need support.
Always remember, it is necessary for the stronger believer to remember that he or she was at one time a weak believer who needed the support of others to lovingly help them advance in their maturity.
Blessings in Christ to you!
