Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Matthew 10:39, which says,

“Whoever find his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Earthly existence is temporary, and the tighter an individual holds on to this life, and the things of this world will lose it (1 John 2:15-17). That is, the individual who refuses to abandon the things of this world, will be lost eternally. But the one who is willing to forsake everything in this life, even physical life, and surrender to Christ has gained eternal life.

Everything in this life that we attempt to hold on to gets old and breaks down. It never brings lasting fulfillment. It is foolish to hold on to this vanishing world and the things in it that so rapidly decay. Even our own physical life is passing away right before our very eyes. It is wise to abandon the world system and give your life to Christ totally. A powerful quote by the late missionary Jim Elliot which says, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” If you have not already surrendered your life to Christ, do it right now. This life is passing away
