Today’s devotional meditation is taken from 2 Corinthians 5:17, which says,

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (ESV).

When a person receives Christ as their Lord and Savior, there is something new that takes place, that individual has been transformed from an old, doomed for eternal destruction life, to a new level of excellence of the new life in Christ. We are in spiritual union with Christ; we are now able to live as we have never lived before. We are not held down by the dominion of sin anymore. We have a brand new quality of life never experienced before while we were spiritually dead. The old life of slavery to sin: our old values, our old priorities our old way of thinking has passed away; and a new life of devotion to Christ has given us new attitudes and actions, new priorities and new values that are now part of our make up.

It took Christ to change us from old to new. We know, we are not what we fully ought to be yet (because of the flesh, we are still growing, but thank God! We are not what we used to be!
