Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Philippians 3:7, which says,

“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.”

There comes a point in the life of a growing believer, that he or she realizes all of things that, at one time, were vitally important, were now worthless. When we begin to see the surpassing value of our fulfilling relationship Christ, we realize the things that did not have an eternal value began to take a backseat, and now we seek those things that give spiritual value to our lives because of Jesus Christ.

Paul used two financial terms, “gain” and “loss.” The things that we once considered as assets have now become liabilities because they do not benefit us eternally. And, the things that we once cared little about, have now become great spiritual assets to us. It is amazing when one begins to grow spiritually that he or she takes on a whole new world view, one that pleases our Lord and Savior. Let us keep making wise spiritual investments toward our eternal future.

Blessings to you in Christ!
