Today’s devotional meditation is taken from 1 Kings 18:21 (ESV), which says,
“How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.”
These are times that call for every believer to examine their allegiance to God. Are we totally focused in our devotion to the One who is the Sustainer of our lives? Or do we split time by straddling the fence by being halfway in and halfway out? Does the world get a lot of our attention, or is the LORD our main priority?
I can absolutely say, if anyone is divided in their loyalties, they are not devoted to God at all. God does not accept half-hearted devotion to Him. Why should He? He is the One who makes us a priority, He provides, protects, delivers, wakes us up, and blesses us. He is gracious and merciful. Our very existence is because of Him. And to think that we would ever be divided in our loyalty to Him is unthinkable. I challenge anyone who is stumbling between two different opinions, follow The LORD.
