Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Deuteronomy 8:18a, which says,

You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth…

Our ability to make a living, solely depends on the LORD graciously supplying us with the ability to work. The very principle of work is given to us in the Garden of Eden, when God placed Adam in the Garden and told him to take care of it. No matter what one’s legal occupation is, we are blessed to be able to earn in order to live in this world. Therefore, we should be grateful to our LORD for enabling us with the strength to rise everyday and go to a place of employment. Our attitude is very important as well, Colossians 3:23 states, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not to men.” (ESV) No matter what you and I do for a living, we must remember we are to give all of our efforts as unto the Lord with joy and not unto men, because the Lord owns it all anyway. It is a blessing to be able to rise and go to work. Let us thank God for the means of income He has provided for us to live by. He provides it all.

Blessings to you and yours!
