Today’s devotional meditation is taken from 2 Corinthians 4:17, which says,
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
It is an inevitable fact that every believer will suffer intense trouble in their lives from time to time. In our growth journey, we must develop a heavenly perspective when it comes to trials, hardship and persecution. We must come to grips with the fact that we are not going to stay here. We have to arrive at the place where we know that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us to be with Him. We will then understand what Paul meant when he called his persecution a “light affliction.” He understood that being compared to being in eternity in Heaven with our Savior, afflictions are a small matter.
Let us come to understand that the issues we face here are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will cause all that we suffer here on earth to seem like nothing.
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
