Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Matthew 18:7, which says,

“Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling by blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling blocks come.” (NASB).

It is extremely necessary for every believer to understand the serious nature of causing others to stumble. We must be on guard in how we act, and how we communicate things to others. We do not have the right to act or say whatever we want. Our actions can be a stumbling block to many.

The Lord publicly condemns those who cause someone to sin. Sometimes, I think we do not see the seriousness of the situation. Many tend to think, “I’m grown, I don’t see anything wrong with what I’m doing.” Or even worse, “I don’t care, I can do whatever I want to do.” That is blatant arrogance. If I am supposed to be a mature Christian, and I, through my deliberate actions, causes someone to follow my willful defiance, God will deal with me. We must not be fooled into thinking we will escape. God will deal seriously with us. Let us think about how we act and what we do.
