Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Matthew 6:19-20, which says,

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth ad rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, (20) but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

We must learn to make wise investment choices. Many of us will seek to invest only in earthly wealth for selfish reasons. Christ warns against accumulating large amounts of material possessions for our own greed. Material treasures are not evil in and of themselves. It becomes evil when we make it our sole determined purpose in life apart from God.

Material possessions breakdown, get stolen, wear out and quickly lose their value. The Lord instructs us to shift our focus from things that will not stand the test of eternity, to the things that will please Him, and give us eternal rewards. We must seek the Lord and His purposes first. He promises that when He is our main focus, He will then give us the material things we need. Always remember, only what we do for Christ will last.

Blessings to you in Christ!
