Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Proverbs 12:1 which says,
“Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.” (NKJV)
There are those who genuinely have our best interest at heart; when correcting us desire the best for us. When we accept instruction it will benefit us. This is wise. However, if we refuse to accept correction, we lack good sense. Accepting godly correction keeps one in good fellowship with the LORD. It is the one who disdains being corrected that Solomon declares as stupid.
The LORD will place people in our lives that seek to help us, and will love us enough to tell us the truth when we are wrong. We must not be foolish enough to reject the reproof that will only make us better. Proverbs 27:6 states, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” When we know a person has a genuine concern for us, we should not be so quick to reject their correction.
Blessings to you!
