Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Luke 11:28, which says,
“But He said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the Word of God, and keep it.”
If we were to compare present day Believers with First Century Believers, we would discover that we are extremely blessed because we are able to have our own personal Bibles. In the First Century the believers did not have that luxury. Therefore, we must know that an even greater blessing is ours when we are able to read/hear and obey God’s Word. Jesus’ profound declaration pointed out that great blessings are for those who intently listen to, and also read the Word of God, and act in accordance with it.
The true believer will seek to obey the Word of God. James 1:22 states, “But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” If any one is a hearer only, and has no intention of obeying the Word, that person does not know Christ. Those who are obedient to the Word of God are the privileged recipients of God’s Divine favor.
