Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Psalm 94:12, which says,
“Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law.” (ESV).
The Bible actually proclaims that the true child of God is blessed when the Lord disciplines us. I know that may seem strange because we do not feel blessed when the LORD deals with us in our disobedience. The LORD’s chastening actually shows that we are His and that He loves us.
Our parents discipline taught us that there is a line that we were not allowed to cross. Those times of discipline literally saved us from carelessly going down a path that could bring us great hardship in our lives. When the LORD disciplines us, we are precious in His sight. His correction gives us that instruction we need in order to bring us to the place of reverential respect for Him. The LORD proves His great love to us because He takes the time to help us stay in right fellowship with Him. We must know that this is a blessing.
May the LORD continuously bless and keep you.
