Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from John 16:32-33, which says,

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Jesus gave His disciples a promise that they would experience oppression because of their testimony for Him. However, they would have peace because He had given them His truth. He also told them to be bold regardless of the persecution, because they were in  spiritual union with Him, and He has already conquered the world.

The fact that we will face major opposition as we live for Christ, should not cause us to be in distress and shrink back from pressing forward for the cause of Christ. Our peace gives us the ability to stand courageous. Our peace and courage is dependent upon our knowledge of who Jesus is through His Word.

If we lack knowledge of Him, we will have the confidence we need to endure the attacks from the enemy. Satan has stepped up his attacks against the church. Therefore, it is necessary to have more than a superficial knowledge of God and His Word in order to have the peace and courage we need for this spiritual battle.
