Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Proverbs 26:27, which says,

Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.

It is inevitable the more people we know, the greater the chances are that someone will try to lay a trap for us and cause great grief. It is important to know that individuals who seek the destruction of others will not escape without retribution. We have a saying that says, “What goes around, comes around.” To put it another way, biblically, it is called the law of the harvest: you reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7). That is the crops one plants, will always come up.

God is displeased when one lays a trap for someone. We must be careful not to allow ourselves to seek to get back at someone because they did us wrong. The important thing to remember is that the Lord said He will handle the matter Himself. He said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19b). We can ask wicked Haman in the book of Esther what happened when he laid a trap for the Hebrew people. That which he set up to destroy the Jews, destroyed him (Esther 7). God takes care of His own.

God be with you.
