Good Morning! Today’s devotional meditation is taken from Psalm 32:1-2, which says,

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.  (2)  Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” (ESV).

If you talk to any believer they will tell you they want to be blessed.  Many do not realize that one of the greatest blessings is that we are forgiven and all of our rebelliousness, perversity, and missing the mark has been taken away, covered and removed from our account.  This far exceeds any material benefit we could ever receive.

The reason why, material things fade away, but God’s forgiveness of our rebellious wickedness is forever erased (see Psalm 103:12, Micah 7:18-19).  When you think about a holy God, who hates sin, extending unto the repentant sinner mercy and grace, it should make us rejoice exceedingly.

It is a blessing to know that the LORD wipes the slate clean.  The psalm writer David knew intimately what it is like to be forgiven.  If you have been born again, you too, have had the crushing weight of the power of sin lifted off of you.  We are blessed!

May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you,
