Psalm 103:10 says,
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
When David began this psalm, he started out with extreme and intense praise due because of the LORD’s amazing grace, mercy, protection and provision. He was so overwhelmed at the LORD’s overflowing goodness. He comes to the place where he recalls the misdeeds and perversions of the LORD’s people. He is enraptured with the fact that the LORD never deals with HIS people as severely as our sins deserve; nor does He repay us for them which He would be totally justified in doing.
It is mind-blowing to think that a Holy God, who hates sin, withholds the full extent of what He could do to us. WOW! Now, think about it, we have done some treacherous things in our lives, and we truly deserve to be punished more than we have. Now, don’t get me wrong, He does chasten us for our sins and wrongdoings; but never as much as we really deserve. God’s grace and mercy is absolutely amazing.
