And if Christ be not raised, your faith is in vain; ye are yet in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:17.

The three greatest, monumental days in the course of human history are: the Day Jesus Christ was born, the Day He died and the Day He rose from the dead. These days are of infinite significance because if any one of them did not come about, then the hope of human kind would be lost for all eternity. If Jesus was never born; He then would not have been here to die in order to pay the debt in full and atone for the sins of lost mankind. If Jesus had died and stayed dead, then our faith would be worthless, and our hope, that is our expectation of eternal bliss with The Lord would never happen, (see 1 Corinthians 15:17). Paul tells the Corinthian believers in 1 Corinthians 15:19, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

I came across this illustration in one of my books titled “1500 Illustrations for Biblical Preaching” which states:

Dateline Jerusalem – On the eve of the annual celebration of the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, the 1 million inhabitants of this city were shocked by the announcement that a body, identified as that of Jesus, was found in a long-neglected tomb just outside the boundary of the city. Rumors had been circulating the last week that a very important discovery was about to be announced. The news, however, far outstrips all of our wildest guesses. The initial reaction of Christians here and around the world has been one of astonishment. Bewilderment, and defensive disbelief. We will have to wait and see just what effect this discovery will have on the 2000-year-old religion. To the mind of this unbelieving writer, it appears that Christianity will have to take its place on the same level with the other religions of the world. No longer can its followers claim that, unlike other religions, the tomb of its founder is empty. Evidently a 2,000-year-old lie has come to an end.

Throughout the Centuries, many have tried to dismiss the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as a myth; as something that could never have happened. They look at Christians as being ignorant, foolish, crazy, and just plain stupid to believe that a Man would have to die and be raised from the dead. Well, I’ve got news for you, you can call me those things if you want to, but those who are claiming this to be a myth have never produced the dead body of the historical Jesus. As a matter of fact, The Lord Himself, presented Himself with many convincing proofs to many after His resurrection (see Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24; John 20 & 21; Acts 1). I have not personally seen the Lord face to face; however, the Word of God has proclaimed these thing to be, and I believe it wholeheartedly. Furthermore, just because an individual does not believe that Jesus rose from the dead, does not mean that His resurrection is not true. The thing is, they do not have sufficient evidence to prove that He did not rise. I want you to take this with you, Jesus Lives, He is not dead. He is alive forevermore. Trust Him and take Him at His Word.

Your servant in Christ,

Pastor Moore
