1 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. 2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers, 3 who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows, 4 shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear…..
Good Morning! Your devotional meditation for today is from Psalm 64. Enemies. As much as we would like to think we do not have any; you may not have one now, but at some point in your life you probably. If you have someone who has set their sight on plaguing you, the key to dealing with them is to know what to do in order to deal with them.
We learn from David, just what to do when being ambushed by enemies. The very first thing to do is to call on the Lord and seek His help and guidance in dealing with the situation. David knew the vicious tactics his enemies sought to destroy him with; which is helpful so that he was not oblivious to their schemes. The next thing we are to do is to know that God has promised to protect us. David expresses his confidence in God based on his past deliverances from the hand of God in verses seven and eight. When facing an attack from an enemy, we must know our enemy, and place our confidence that He will help. Rejoice in the fact that our God will handle it.
