1 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; 2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint.  Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,   3  for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy

Good Morning! Your meditation comes from Psalm 61. When we find ourselves in a state of feeling inadequate and being overwhelmed, those are times when we have to rely on our knowledge of God and find assurance in the fact that He is a strong foundation that we can find stability in. There will be times in our lives that we will not know what to do in a given situation. However, David uses four metaphors of God’s protection that he has placed his assurance in: a Rock, a Shelter, a Strong tower, the Shelter of His wings.

These metaphors speak of God’s impenetrable protection. We must take confidence in God’s ability to protect us in the midst of whatever overwhelming circumstance. It is absolutely necessary for us to have confidence in our God that He is not only able, but that He is willing to help us in our times of trouble. May you place all of your confidence in Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask our think.

God bless you.
