1  Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! 2 Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help! 3 Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers! Say to my soul, “I am your salvation!

Good Morning! Your Meditational thought for today comes from Psalm 35. We all will have those who stand in opposition to us at various times in our lives. We should not be surprised. It may even be someone who is very close to us. It is not for us to retaliate against them; it is for us to remember that the LORD said He will fight for us. When you look at David who was a mighty warrior, he seemed to be capable of handling himself, however, He knew that the LORD was more than able to completely make those who stand in opposition to him go away.

This goes a long ways in helping us to completely surrender to the LORD and trust that He will always help us in our times of great opposition. David did not just leave it there in calling out on the LORD for help against his enemies. He praised the LORD in advance and continued to trust Him. David closes out this Psalm in verses 27-28 by saying, “Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, Great is the LORD, who delights in the welfare of His servant?” “Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.” Let that be your testimony daily.

Blessings to you.
