…..4 He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people: 5 “Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!” 6 The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge! Selah…..
Your meditational thought for today is from Psalm 50. Our God is the righteous judge of all the universe. The psalmist paints the picture as a courtroom scene where God summons everyone on the earth to come to Him in order to be judged. The Universe will be the witnesses. The Covenant people Israel will be the defendants. They are those who have made a covenant with Him. He will judge them based upon their external formalism in worshiping Him.
In other words, they went through the motions of worshiping Him, but their hearts were far from Him. He also charged them of hypocrisy. This is a psalm for us to closely examine our hearts to see if we are going through the motions when we worship the LORD. It is important for us to remember that God the Righteous Judge knows our every motive. It is imperative that we make sure that we are sincere in our worship. Let our hearts not be divided as we offer unto God what He is so worthy of.
Let us not be at odds with anyone, we must get all of that settled when we come before the Lord. And let s remember that Worshiping the Lord never stops for the believer. Something to meditate on.
Blessings to you.
