Psalm 43: Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me! 2 For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 3 Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God
Your meditational thought for today is from Psalm 43. Our lives are in constant state of defense and deliverance. The Psalmist calls on God to defend Him against his enemies. He understands that he, himself is unable to defend and deliver himself from the onslaught of his enemies.
When we understand that our best defense is knowing and trusting that God is our only defense and deliverance. When we take matters into our own hands, we prolong our problems. It is for us to place our confident trust in our omnipotent Almighty God. Let God plead your case. Let Him bring you out of your dilemma. Let Him help you. If you continue to struggle with stepping back and letting the Lord do what He only is able to do; if you are always anxious about your situations. I want you to ask yourself like the psalmist did in verse 5, he says, “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation is from God.” (ESV). That is a profound declaration from the psalmist. Let each and every believer ask the same question and the have bold confidence that God will deliver us in our trouble. May the Lord’s continued blessings continue to flow in your life.
