Psalm 38

Do Not Forsake Me, O Lord

…O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath! 2      For your arrows have sunk into me, and your hand has come down on me….

Good Morning!

Your meditational thought for today is from Psalm 38. This Psalm is from David who is deeply grieved because of personal sin. He is struggling on the inside because of his sinfulness, it is causing him great grief. This may seem tragic, however, it is good that one can recognize his or her sinfulness. It is at that place where we the individual can confess their sin. One should be worried if they are never convicted of their wrongdoing. It is imperative that we not take lightly our transgressions and blow them off as no big deal.

God allowed David to face trouble from the outside as well. The Lord allowed David’s enemies to pursue him and cause him grief. If you take notice, the Lord never let them overtake David, but it kept him crying out to the Lord for help. In verse 18, David expressed his remorse by confessing His sin, he said, “I confess my iniquity’ I am sorry for my sin.” It is for the child of God to agonize over our rebellion and receive the chastening from the Lord in order to correct us so that we can get back in fellowship with Him.

Blessings to you!
