“…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  Hebrews 13:5b

Our resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ made a statement at the end of the Great Commission, He said, “…and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20).  This statement is a promise that He will always be with us at all times from earth though eternity.

God’s presence is a special benefit for the believer.  We enjoy a special relational presence with Him.  He is intimately involved with us.  Therefore, He knows everything we have to endure.  He knows everything that we need.  He knows everything that is best for us.  And he knows everything that is going on in our life, because He is there.  He can identify with our hurts, our struggles, our difficulties, our pain and our anxieties.  He will comfort us through the hurts; He will help us with our struggles; He will guide us through our difficulties; He will hold us in his arms, while we are in pain, and He will give us peace to calm our anxieties.  I Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all of our cares upon the Lord, because he cares for us.  The Psalmist tells us to “Cast our burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  (Psalms 50:22).

There is a story of a doctor who had to give a shot to a little 4 year old girl.  When she learned what the doctor was going to do, she became frightened, and her body tensed up.  When the doctor picked up what looked to the little girl like a needle that could kill an elephant, she turned her eyes to her father, who then took her hand and fixed his eyes upon her eyes.  Her face expressed a calm confidence because her father was there with her.  She knew she was not alone, and found comfort in her father’s presence with her in her time of trial.

As we look at the climate of this world today, we can see that society is degrading into ultimate doom and destruction. It seems that most of society is has lost its way.  In America the Christian is quickly becoming an enemy of the culture because the culture has no desire to have a standard of truth.  We know that our truth is in the Scriptures. Therefore, the society is rising up against those who stand for what is right.  But do not despair, our Lord promised us that He would be with us, “…always, even unto the end of the world.” God’s got our back!

Your servant is Christ,
