I thank God for bringing us to the first Sunday in the Month of October. It has been by His grace that we made it to this point in time. As I look back on the first nine months, it has been a time filled with much activity and service. I appreciate the privilege of being used by God. However, on a sad note, I have preached 18 funeral services this year in nine months. We must thank God for everyday His grace blesses us to live and serve Him.
Sunday was a wonderful experience. I had the privilege of worshiping with NPBC. I appreciate the dedication of the Church School Workers and Teachers. Our Superintendent and his staff, both administrative and teaching are a blessing to this church. I am grateful for the membership that faithfully comes to participate in Church School. Your spiritual growth has been greatly enhanced by your presence. God be praised. Special mention to Classes 1-4. Thank you for your dedication to our young people. Thank you for being there for them outside of class time to support them.
Special shout out to the Deacons and Deacon’s Wives for a very uplifting Praise Period causing us to focus our attention on our Lord. I praise God for the Voices for leading out in worship through music. I continued preaching on the series, “The Functions of a Dysfunctional Family.” My sermon title was, “The Dawning of a New Day,” Genesis 32:22-32.
Our observance of The Lord’s Supper was an awesome time calling to remembrance our Lord’s great sacrifice for us. We must always remember not to become ho-hum when we come to the Lord’s Table.
I ask that you pray for the Fall Family Conference and make plans to come as we seek to Build Healthy Families. God bless you NPBC.
Your servant in Christ,
